Then we wrote out postcards that the Audubon of RI will be sending to The White House. The kids had to write why our earth is important for President Trump. ❤ πΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈ ❤
Next we went on an long 45 minute adventure on the nature boardwalk. The scenery there is breathtaking. I packed snacks/lunches so we didn't have to eat any junk or spend $$$ on food.
The kids each picked out an owl stuffed animal from the adorable affordable gift shop. I don't mind buying things for the kids at the Audubon, it all goes to such a great cause!
Omg if that wasn't enough we went back to the main building for story time and we even met a new friend Eek the Owl! Wow! Eek was run over by a car in New Hampshire. He was driven to the Audobon in RI where he was rehabilitated. Eek is mostly blind due to his brain injuries. Eek now spends his days educating others about wild birds! π
Totally awesome day. When we were on 95 headed back to the West Bay we passed by Roger Williams Zoo. I chuckled a little bit because there were like five million cars in the parking lot. Why would any parent torture themselves like that during vaca week! We had such a full, peaceful, stress-free, frugal, educational, and FUN day with the owls at the Audubon!
I must say too that the bathrooms are stunningly fresh and clean. Parents I can't do dirty bathrooms with my kids. Katie touches everything and it really stresses me out! The bathrooms at the Audubon are an A++. π Triple win.
Cheers!
