Swiss Village Farm Annual Visitors Day! FREE - Holy Wow! Newport, RI
Parents! This looks absolutely incredible! Wow what a great FREE activity for the fam. This came across the hopper this morning through 4-H! Wow. Wow. Wow! I've never even heard of this place before! Holla! A real gem and so unique! This will fill an entire day! Make sure you pack snacks and drinks parents!

-Peek into our state-of-the-art facilities and meet the SVF laboratory, veterinary, and animal care staff
-Visit Chip, a rare Tennessee myotonic goat born from a frozen embryo, and learn about other endangered breeds of livestock
-Attend live cryogenics and sheep shearing demonstrations
-Shop SVF’s selection of farm products and heritage breed meat
-Returning this year- Julians Omnibus, a double-decker food truck serving local heritage breed burgers and munchies – check out their 2015 menu!
– Ditch the car and enjoy a beautiful bike ride to Visitors Day! Free bike parking is available on site and bicyclists are encouraged to enter from our Beacon Hill Road entrance. Bicyclists can also walk their bikes through.
This event is free to the public. Parking will be available at Fort Adams State Park and free transportation will be provided by trolley from 9am – 3pm. There will be no parking available at SVF.

Bastiani's (pick your own) Blueberry Farm - Hebron CT
Parents its almost that time again! As July 4th weekend quickly approaches, I'm thinking about one thing, Bastiani's PYO Blueberries!!
This will be our forth year picking at Bastiani's! We usually pick enough blueberries to last us until about December in our deep freezer! We bake with them, pack them for snacks and enjoy them for months and months! Bastiani's prices are extremely affordable too which makes them simply our favorite! We basically pick all day...eat blueberries until we are sick... then go home and bake for the rest of the day! My kids adore this family tradition. We all do!
If you feel like dropping cash.... The Dinosaur Place @ Nature's Art Village is right down the road from Bastiani's. Don't go with less than $100...because that's what The Dinosaur Place will cost you, which is why we never go. They do have an amazing splash pad, bouncy house, and stunning playground. $$$$ If you do opt for Dino Place pack a cooler! The food there is expensive and not healthy and they allow entry with coolers which can really help with costs for the day!
The best time to go picking is around July 4th give or take. I usually start calling the farm around June 15th to get a beat on things! The farm is stunning and looks like a vineyard. It's never busy, never a line and somewhat private. No restrooms FYI.

* If you go make sure you spray your family with BUG SPRAY to prevent tick bites and wear light colored clothing if possible in order to see any crawling creatures on yourself/kids! We have never seen any ticks at Bastiani's, however anything is possible!

Summer Kidfest @ Cinemaworld - FREE Daily Movies Summer 2018 Lincoln, Rhode Island
Parents!
Cinemaworld of Lincoln, Rhode Island is doing their FREE daily movies AGAIN this summer! Parents if you have nothing to do or just want to escape with your kids, this is a great option! All kids are FREE 7 days a week for the 10am showing, starting June 22nd! The daily movie selection will be either G or PG! Each adult just needs to bring in a canned good for the homeless an an entry 'fee', I LOVE that! If you have several kids then this is totally your thing! My kids NEVER go to the movies because its just waaaaay too expensive!!! If you have several kids at the 'regular' movies your looking at a triple digit day! NO THANK YOU! Anyway load up the neighborhood kids or cousins this summer and have a ball for FREE, while also helping feed the homeless! Amazing.
Remember to pack your own snacks and drinks!!!
Also right by Cinemaworld there is a Stop and Shop, Dollar Tree, and also a Target incase you have other summer errands to accomplish while your in the area!

How much fun did we have today at Hasbro Pre-School???? SO MUCH!
Parents, especially SAHM's!!!!! If you haven't signed up for Hasbro Fun Lab then your missing out! So We are SO LUCKY in Rhode Island to have Hasbro World-Wide located here! We participate in as many Hasbro market research projects AS POSSIBLE! Prevent Lyme Disease
Lyme Disease is no joke parents! If you think you and your pets and family are immune YOU ARE WRONG! Ticks are out in full force! Use Permethrin to treat clothes and shoes!

We had the most exciting day yesterday filming an episode of 'This is New England'! We loved talking all about spring/summer tick safety and $$$ saving tips for parents! Our segment was all things parenting! Diapers, Daycare, and Deadlines was a hit too! Tune in to watch some fun parenting talk!
Latoyia Edwards who is the host of the show was AMAZING! She made us feel extremely welcome! She is very good at what she does!

OMG I found a tick on my child, WTH do we do? (you should be preventing tick bites with Permethrin treated shoes and clothes and in the first place but that's another entire post)
OK we got this! As a parent you NEED a pair of these ninja tweezers! Tick removal is a tricky and delicate process.....not to be taken lightly! If you remove a tick the wrong way you could really be putting your child in harms way! Ticks MUST be removed with a fine tip pointy tweezer @ the head. If you squish the tick with a flat head tweezer all the bacteria in the ticks little body can be squeezed right into your child's bloodstream! Omg GROSS! We simply LOVE these inexpensive tweezers! For about $10.00 you can own a pair of these tweezers! This is your tool!

Home Depot FREE Kids Workshop this Saturday! Make an AMAZING Windmill Planter for Mom!
Guys! It's that time again! This Saturday is yet another awesome FREE Home Depot Kids project! Dads take your kids to build this amazing windmill for mom! She will LOVE it and it's free! Save $$$$ Homemade Liquid Fabric Softner!
Ok so I LOVE fabric softner and I'm definitely OCD about my laundry!
I like everything to come out of the dryer SOFT.
Personally I think fabric softner companies are putting less and less 'softner' in their liquid! It's like water now.....so to accomplish soft laundry you have to use a TON which cost $$$.
Before I perfected this recipe I was blowing through a stupid amount of softner!
So here it is....
- 10 cups water
- 5 cups white vinegar
- 2 cups extra moisturizing hair conditioner (any kind) you can add a few extra table spoons of conditioner if you like extra soft clothes!
I mix everything together in an empty white vinegar jug....shake it up....and voila!
Works so well and lasts so much longer than the traditional kinds. We use a hypoallergenic conditioner so ours is allergy free.

Mom 'I'm Bored' Summer 2018
Parents Summer of 2018 is approaching FAST! Hopefully you all are working on a 'I'm Bored' list. I think its good for kids to occasionally be bored. We do however live a different day and age then when I was a kid. Activities need to be planned and well thought out now.
I'm diligently working on our 'Mom I'm Bored' Summer 2018 list! We LOVE doing this! I make two columns 'free' and '$$$', pretty self explanatory! Guys if you WAIT until the moment your kids are bored your SCREWED! You have to plan ahead! Planning ahead will save you so much MONEY! If your floundering looking for fun things to do on the fly your going to pay $$$$$! Right? It's not just about $$.... It's about making the most out of the little time we get with our kids!
Going into summer is like preparing for war! Boredom war! Be prepared!
My list is fairly comprehensive and typed in an excel spreadsheet! Yours doesn't have to be that fancy!
Some of our favorites are.....
- Go movie 'shopping' at the North Kingstown library for a movie night! NK has an epic collection of children's movies! Our kids love picking whatever they want! (free)
- Go for a group bike, or scooter ride (free)
- Sidewalk Chalk art contest (free)
- Host a lemonade stand to raise money for your favorite charity (free)
- Have your child write a letter to Alan Shawn Feinstein and tell him about all the good deeds they are doing! He will write your child back and send them a Feinstein Scholar card that gets your child into many different local attractions (Mystic Aquarium - Paw Sox) free of charge since they are a VIP 'Do Gooder'. I love everything about this!
- Gather any saved birthday gift cards and make a mental note of what you have! We always save ours for summer! Use accordingly!
- Have a list of local Moms you can text for on the spot for mutual play dates (free-ish) My kids LOVE this one too, they love seeing their friends!
- Take a walk along the Narragansett wall. (free) Pack picnic (free-ish)
- Go on a shopping spree in the toy section of The Dollar Tree (not free but cheap) My kids favorite! Five Below is a good one too!
- Visit with various local family (free-ish)
- Sea Glass Hunting (free) You can rock, flower, or leaf hunt if you don't live near a beach! Make sure and spray your kids for bugs!
- Playground Hopping with a candy surprise from mom (leftover Easter Candy) @ each playground arrival. Pack a picnic. (free)
You get the picture!!!!!! If you just plan ahead you and your family will certainly reap the rewards this summer and make some epic memories! Stay tuned for our I'm Bored list! I will post it when its finished! What's neat is every family out there has their own style and things that they enjoy together!
I also have a stash of confiscated birthday gifts and crafts that were tossed aside @ some point..... I leave this stash for summer I'm Bored emergencies! lol

EASY Homemade Window and Glass Cleaner!
I love everything about homemade cleaners! They are CHEAP to make and so much healthier for your family! I'm all set with having strong chemicals in our household!
So here is my first amazingness!
Homemade Glass and Window Cleaner
1 Part White Vinigar
3 Parts Water
Pour both into a clean spray bottle! You’re welcome!
This glass cleaner will make your windows, mirrors, and glass SPARKLE!
I usually use an old rag, sock, or some sort of used cloth alongside the white vinegar cleaner. I don't use paper towels because they are so bad for the planet and they leave streaks and lint everywhere!
You can grab all ingredients at Dollar Tree! We heart the spray bottles at Dollar Tree!

I usually use an old rag, sock, or some sort of used cloth alongside the white vinegar cleaner. I don't use paper towels because they are so bad for the planet and they leave streaks and lint everywhere!
